The Duo experience of Paola Biondi and Debora Brunialti starts from their first years of study at the Milan Conservatory, bringing them soon to share important awards and critical meetings such as those with Massimiliano Damerini, Alfons Kontarsky, Katia Labèque, Dario de Rosa and Maureen Jones.
As noted by the composer Azio Corghi, the Duo's performances are commendably "built on the principle of loyalty to the text" and "always compelling both from the technical and emotional side".
For the final concert of our Series, Paola Biondi and Debora Brunialti advance an intriguing proposal in balance between style and improvisation, popular figures and refined processing.
The works by Giorgio Gaslini, musician and composer to whom we owe the official entrance of jazz in the Italian conservatories, will alternate with those of the amazing and eclectic Stefano Bollani, through the works of Richard Bennett, author of unforgettable film soundtracks, to lead to the piece that represents the marriage between jazz and classical music - Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin.
« In duo Biondi-Brunialti, it seems to exist
an almost innate agreement... One has the feeling
of an artistically supreme result:
it is like a single pianist is playing »
