Alessandro Taverna, graduated in 2001 at the age of 17 with top grades and honors he is now becoming internationally renowned. After winning several important awards in Italy, he drew the attention of the international critics winning the special prize at the 2009 “Hamamatsu International Piano Competition” in Japan; during the same year he also placed second at the “Minnesota International Piano-e-Competition”, and third at the “Leeds International Piano Competition”, thus establishing himself as one of the leading pianist of his generation.
His concert schedule is full of prestigious engagements. He performs as a soloist or accompanied by various orchestras in Italy, Europe and North America.
He improved his technique in Portogruaro under the guide of Piero Rattalino and in Imola with Franco Scala, Leonid Margarius and Boris Petrushansky. He specialized at the “Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia” in Rome with Sergio Perticaroli where he graduated with top grades and honors. In 2010 he was admitted to the “International Piano Academy Lago di Como”. He continues to perfect his technique with Arie Vardi at the “Hochschule” in Hannover.
