
ALEXANDER LUBYANTSEV piano
Alexander Lubyantsev is considered one of the biggest talents of his generation.
He was born on December 27, 1986 in Saint Petersburg in a family of musicians: his mother is a pianist; his father is an accordionist, a choir conductor and the head of a music school; his four sisters play the piano, the flute and the cello.
Introduced to the world of music by his parents, Alexander studied piano and composition in his home-town with various teachers and specialized afterwards in Moscow and in Lubecca, Germany. Since 2008 he has been studying with Victor Portnoi at the “Petrozavosk State Conservatory”.
Since he was very young he has taken part in national and international competition and gained important awards.
Among his achievements, we remember the first prize at the “International Young Pianist’s Competition – Rachmaninoff in memoriam” in Novgorod in 1998, the “Grand Prix” at the “All-Baltic Young Pianist’s Competition – Chopin in memoriam” in Narva, Estonia 2001, the fifth prize at the “Sydney International Piano Competition” in 2004 and the third prize at the “Tchaikovsky Competition” in Moscow in 2007.
In the 2011 “Tchaikovsky Competition” he was awarded “Critic’s Prize” for his originality. Alexander Lubyantsev recitals and his concerts orchestras have now reached Macedonia, France, South Korea, Japan, Brasil, Norway, Estonia, Belarus and Czech Republic.
