FERRARA INTERNATIONAL PIANO FESTIVAL 2014
From 18th to 26th July, FAZIOLI pianos were proud to be at side of the international renowned musicians-teachers and talented students who came in Ferrara for the new-born Festival founded and directed by Simone Ferraresi.
Ferrara Piano Festival is a not-for-profit corporation in New York City dedicated to empowering talented young pianists through such programs as festivals and master classes, as well as awarding scholarships. Its main goal is to promote the cultural exchange of piano students between the United States and other countries and to facilitate the international mobility of young pianists. Ferrara Piano Festival was founded by Italian pianist, Simone Ferraresi.
The first edition of Ferrara International Piano Festival took place from July 18th to 26th in Ferrara, Italy; the Festival is directed by Simone Ferraresi. Three internationally well-know musicians such as Kevin Hays, Paul Badura-Skoda and Jeffrey Swan, students from all over the world, concerts and master classes: that's what happened in one intensive musical week in the beautiful city of Ferrara, that was named "UNESCO World Heritage Site".
Kevin Hays is internationally recognized as one of the premier jazz pianists of his generation. He is the winner of the Charles Cros Award and his latest 2 piano recording, 'Modern Music' with fellow pianist Brad Mehldau has garnered critical acclaim.
Paul Badura-Skoda is one of the most important pianists of our time, musicologist and author of the best-selling books "Interpreting Mozart" and "Interpreting Bach at the Keyboard".
Jeffrey Swann won first prize in the Dino Ciani Competition sponsored by La Scala in Milan. He is Professor of Piano at New York University and Music Director of the Dino Ciani Festival & Academy in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
