The frame is constructed in such a way as to provide the maximum strength possible
from the wooden components. In this way the two rims should work as "walls",
through which the waves are transmitted into the soundboard from the strings via
the bridge. For this reason they have to be as rigid as possible in order to avoid
any energy loss. The soundboard is glued to the inner rim before attaching the
outer rim to the inner rim. We have developed a system to give a high tension
to the soundboard without having the two rims glued together previously. This
allows a greater precision within the musical scale. |
