Winner of both First Prize and Audience Prize at the International Chamber Music Competition of Chesapeake MD-USA, the David Trio already at its debut had obtained 1st Prize and the Bösendorfer Prize at the International Competition for Chamber Music "F.J. Haydn" in Vienna, held in the Konzerthaus as also First Prize at the Yellow Springs OH-USA International Competition. Laureated also in the two principal Italian competitions for chamber ensembles: the 26th International Competition for Chamber Ensembles "Vittorio Gui" in Florence and the 9th International Chamber Music Competition "Premio Trio di Trieste" in which the Trio also gained the "Amedeo Baldovino" prize for the best interpretation of Brahms.
The David Trio since its foundation has studied with the Altenberg Trio, with Hatto Beyerle, with the Trio di Trieste and with Enrico Bronzi, and has been chosen to represent the European Chamber Music Academy. This enabled the Trio to continue its preparation with musicians such as Heinrich Schiff, Erich Höbarth (Quatuor Mosaique), Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartett), Christoph Richter, Avo Kouyoumdjan and Hatto Beyerle. The David Trio has already developed an intensive performing activity around Italy (Società del Quartetto in Vercelli, Concerts from the Quirinale, transmitted live by RAI-Radio3 national radio, Gli Amici della Musica in Padua, Pescara, Foggia and Campobasso, Ponchielli Theatre in Cremona, Settimanali Musicali at the Teatro Olimpo of Vicenza, Cattolica University concert season in Rome) and abroad (Casals Festival in Prades, Bösendorfer Foundation in Vienna, Schladmig Musik Sommer MidEurope, Schloss Grafenegg, Festival International de Musique de Chambre in St. Ursanne, Haydn Festspiel of Eisenstadt, Rohrau Haydn-Gedenkstatte, Allegro Vivo Kammermusik Festival, Montpellier-Radio, France and the Coliseum in Buenos Aires).
The David Trio has recently toured South America and Mexico where they were received with enthusiasm by both critics and public alike. The David Trio made a significant contribution to the Festival Cameralia 2007 in Santiago de Compostela as resident chamber music professors. The same year the David Trio has been awarded with a fellowship from Borletti-Buitoni Trust (London), which is supporting the trio career and has sponsored the first recording of Schubert trios for Altara label (2008), which is considered already one of the best interpretations of this masterworks. Recently the David Trio recorded the Ciajkowskj and Shostakovic trios for Stradivarius label and got big acclame at his debut in Amsterdam's Concertgebow.
The continuous quest for an innovative stylistic approach in the performance of works of classical composers, through the exploration of colour and rhythmic musical elements, added to an ongoing dialogue, at once frank and respectful, with their audience during performance, constitute for the David Trio a constant source of musical inspiration and human enrichment.
« ...their pace is dictated by the enthusiasm, telling the listener their infectious desire to make music »
