3rd TAKAMATSU INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMETITION
March 12th - 23rd 2014
Sunport Hall, Takamatsu (Japan)
With a legacy stretching back to 2006, the Takamatsu International Piano Competition is an artistic event that provides a forum to bring together top musicians from all over the world. As well as encouraging young people to pursue their dreams and goals of self-development, this international event also aims to foster a new culture of music in Kagawa. The backdrop for the competition is the beautiful Sunport Takamatsu, overlooking the world renowned Seto Inland Sea.
The Competition, open to applicants born on or after January 1 1979 (regardless of their nationality), will take place from March 12th to 23rd 2014.
On the stage, among the instruments at Contestants' choice, there will be a Fazioli piano provided by our official Fazioli dealer for Japan: Pianoforti Co. That piano is the same used in the 2010 Chopin Competition and chose in that occasion by Daniil Trifonov, who then won the 3rd prize; since 2010 the piano, always cared by the same Technician, has improved, and now has a deep, rich tone.
The Winner of the 2010 edition was Alexander Yakovlev who also won the International Piano Competition "Ettore Pozzoli" (Italy) in 2013.
