Architecture of Music Competition | Vancouver The Competition was born under the aegis of Westbank, a real estate development company in Vancouver founded and directed by philanthropist and visionary Ian Gillespie. Each of the most important architectural projects of this manufacturer, as well as making the city of Vancouver, is accompanied by a Fazioli piano whose design recalls the characteristics of the building. Swedish pianist Carl Petersson was called to lead the Westbank Piano Program, aimed at “melting together architecture and music, to provoke the senses, ignite the imagination and inspire”. The fulcrum of this project is precisely the Competition, launched in 2021 in Oakridge Park, together with a Festival that enhances the different locations of the Westbank and their respective pianos.
