A rich and sparkling programme for the 14th edition of the Amiata Piano Festival taking place from May 19th to December 9th 2018 in the stunning setting of the Bertarelli in Poggi del Sasso (Grosseto, Italy).

For the 14th edition of the Amiata Piano Festival taking place from May 19th to December 9th 2018, artistic director Maurizio Baglini signs a rich and lively programme ranging from Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony to Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in blue”. Fourteen concerts held at the beautiful Forum Bertarelli immersed in the stunning natural scenery of the Tuscan Maremma –Poggi del Sasso (Cinigiano, Grosseto).

Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868), Claude Debussy (1862-1918), Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1895-1968), Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990): in the year of their anniversary, the Amiata Piano Festival celebrates the genius of these four composers with a significant series of tributes. Il programma abbraccia poi un vasto repertorio, con alcuni capolavori del barocco come i Concerti per più pianoforti e archi di Bach, la Musica sull’acqua di Telemann, lo Stabat Mater di Vivaldi. E con incursioni nel mondo del jazz, del tango argentino, del valzer, del cabaret musicale d’autore.

On stage some stars of the international concert scene, who will perform in the most diverse combinations: soloists, ensembles, orchestras, choirs, even piano and saxophones quartets.
As the name of the festival suggests, the audience can expect to listen to lots of pianists, apart from M° Baglini himself: Michele Campanella, Monica Leone, Gianluca Luisi, Andrea Padova, Marco Scolastra, Marcello Mazzoni, Davide Cabassi, Tatiana Larionova, Jin Ju, Marco Inchingolo, Axel Trolese, Alessandra Ammara and David Helbock.
Other soloists include violinists Francesca Dego, Mihalea Costea and Gauthier Dooghe; violists Simonide Braconi, Anna Serova and Ralph Zigheti; guitarrist Giulio Tampalini, clarinetist Jean-Luc Votano; horn player Denis Simándy and cellist Silvia Chiesa, Arist in Residence of the festival.
Among the orchestras and ensembles: “Orchestra della Toscana” conducted by Daniele Rustioni, “I Solisti Filarmonici Italiani” with Federico Guglielmo, the “Ensemble vocale di Napoli” (soloists: Linda Campanella, Adriana Di Paola, Carmine Riccio, Simone Alaimo; Enrica Ruggiero, harmonium); “Javier Girotto and Gianni Iorio Duo”; the “Italian Saxophone Quartet” with Federico Mondelci; “Silete Venti!” with Simone Toni and soprano Raffaella Milanesi; “Rossignolo” with Ottaviano Tenerani; “Dosto & Yevski”.
And of course young rising stars of the international classical music scene: Giovanni Andrea Zanon, Laura Bortolotto, Christian Sebastianutto, Giulia Rimonda (violins); Costanza Pepini, Stefano Musolino (violas); Andrea Nocerino (cellos).

As usual, Rai Radio 3 will record the final concerts of the festival in order to broadcast them on delay both nationally and internationally.
