Their first public Duo performance dates back to 2005. Very active in the chamber music field, the two sisters are first of all pursuing their respective solo careers. Maria, who is now teaching at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam where she studied with Ilya Gruber, won the scholarship of the BorlettI Buitoni Trust in 2016. She is a member of the Van Baerle Trio, one of the most celebrated ensembles in the Netherlands, as well as prize-winner at the prestigious competitions of Munich (ARD) and Lyon. After winning the Dublin Competition in 2015, Nathalia, a student of Nelson Goerner, has seen her agenda fill up with musical engagements in prestigious halls all across Europe and North America (the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Wigmore Hall in London) and renowned Festivals (La Roque d’Anthéron). The first Duo album by the Milstein sisters, feat. music by Hahn, Debussy, Fauré and Saint-Saëns, is a tribute to the great French writer Marcel Proust and to the motif of the legendary “Vinteuil Sonata” which haunts the main character of the novel “A la recherche du temps perdu”.

Maria Milstein plays a Michel Angelo Bergonzi violin (Cremona, around 1750), kindly granted by the Dutch Music Instruments Foundation.

MARIA MILSTEIN violin NATHALIA MILSTEIN piano Born into a family of Russian musicians, Maria and Nathalia Milstein grew up in […]

[81
94
post-3976","concerto_ch","type-concerto_ch","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","stagione_ch-season2017-18-en","concerto-concert-hall
["GET
