Friday, 3 May, 2019 - 19:30

At the young age of four, he would improvise popular tunes at the keyboard, while at six he started taking piano lessons with Qi Li, Professor at the Xinghai Conservatory. In a short time, passion, ease of learning and determination allowed him to make great progress and had access the Conservatory of Music. Since 2010, JunLin Wu has won a series of first prizes at numerous national and international competitions, among which we would like to remember the Seattle International Piano Competition and the Asia Youth Music Competition in Hong Kong. Currently studying under Professor Dmitri Alexeev at the Royal College of Music, in 2015 he had the honour of performing for the Chinese First Lady Liyuan Peng during her visit to London. He received the “RCM Chapell Medal” and, in the summer of the same year, won the first prize at the “In Musica” International Piano Competition in Rome. Among the Masters who have listened to him and admired his playing, we remember Vladimir Ashkenazy, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Craig Sheppard and John Perry.
