Ruishi Zheng (Beijing, 2000) made her recital debut at the age of 11 and regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician in China, Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain, France, and the USA. Praised for her interpretative depth, tonal refinement, and technical brilliance, she has won prestigious awards. Among them are the Palmo d’Oro in Finale Ligure, first prizes at the Villafranca Competition and the Hong Kong Asia-Pacific, the Kultur Kontakt Prize from the Piano Academy Eppan, and third prize at the MozArte Competition in Aachen. Since 2016, she has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik in Hanover, where she is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma under the guidance of Christopher Oakden and Andrea Bonatta.
Nagino Maruyama (Japan, 1999) has been performing in public since the age of six. Since then, she has graced prestigious stages, from Carnegie Hall in New York to the Konzerthaus in Vienna, from Salle Gaveau in Paris to Izumi Hall in Osaka. At 16, she was admitted to the Paris Conservatory, where she earned her master’s degree in 2021. She was the youngest participant in the 2015 Chopin Competition in Warsaw and has won numerous competitions. Among them are the Finale Ligure Competition—where she also received the Paola Bruni Prize, the Donzdorf Prize, and the Audience Prize—the 13th Concours International de Piano de Mayenne, the 8th Città di Acquaviva delle Fonti, and the 20th Osaka International Music Competition, where she also received seven special prizes.
Palma d’Oro International Piano Competition, Finale Ligure: the Competition was born in 1974 from the idea of Aloise Vecchiato and Bartolomeo Marco, and since 2015 it has been associated with the Alink-Argerich Foundation. Managed by the Association of Musical Culture “Palma d’Oro” with the support of the Municipality of Finale Ligure and the De Mari Foundation, the Competition is now in its 49th edition and enriched by a calendar of concerts also aimed at enhancing places of historical and cultural interest of the territory. The German city of Donzdorf awards a special prize and collaborates with the winners’ concerts.
