Chinese pianist Zijun Xu, defined by Vladimir Ashkenazy as “an artist who has rich inner emotion and a great ability in control”, was the first Chinese pianist to be awarded the first prize at the Mark Ray International Piano Competition in 2014. In 2020 he successfully received the Doctoral Artist Diploma degree from the Royal College of Music. After his studies in Europe, he toured China’s Poly Theatres with his concert series “The Golden Moment 8 Piano Solo” receiving outstandingly positive feedbacks. He is currently professor of piano at Shenyang Conservatory of Music.
