Kai-Min Chang won Fourth Prize as the youngest finalist at the 2024 Leeds International Piano Competition. He also received the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society Award. He first gained international critical attention at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2021. Following his victory in Ljubljana in 2023, he was invited to perform Brahms’ Second Concerto with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yan Pascal Tortelier, as well as the opening concert of the Ljubljana Winter Festival in 2024. At just 17, Kai-Min moved to the United States to study with Dang Thai Son at Oberlin College and Conservatory. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the New England Conservatory.

Ljubljana Festival International Competition: born within the prestigious Ljubljana Festival, the competition aims to promote young talents on the international music scene, offering them an important concert and competitive experience. The first edition took place in 2023, and the next one, scheduled for 2026, will be open to pianists of all nationalities born between 1995 and 2009. The Ljubljana Festival is led by the general and artistic director Darko Brlek, while the artistic direction of the competition is entrusted to Epifano Comis. The jury is chaired by the renowned pianist Dubravka Tomšič Srebotnjak.
