Born in Gela in 1996, Alberto Ferro is distinguished by a piano style that is both poetic and rigorous. After graduating with top honors and distinction from the « V. Bellini » Conservatory in Catania under the guidance of Epifanio Comis, he has won major international awards, including First Prize at the Ljubljana International Competition (2016), the Beethoven Competition in Bonn (2017), and the Premio Venezia (2015), as well as Second Prize at the Busoni Competition in Bolzano (2015).
He is a regular guest at prestigious European festivals and concert institutions, such as the Copenhagen Summer Festival, Beethovenfest, Kissinger Sommer, Piano aux Jacobins, and the Società dei Concerti and Società del Quartetto in Milan. He has performed in some of the world’s leading concert halls—ranging from the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest to the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, and from the Palau de la Música in Barcelona to Bozar in Brussels—appearing both in recital and with orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Slovenian Philharmonic, and the La Fenice Philharmonic, while collaborating with conductors including Marin Alsop and Thierry Fischer.
