By the Artists
Maurizio Baglini is a visionary pianist, with a taste for musical challenges. Silvia Chiesa is a refined and creative cellist, dedicated to broadening the horizons of her instrument. Their partnership as a duo began in 2006, leading to a rare artistic collaboration. Their project has continued to thrive, with a vast repertoire and perfect understanding between them, enriching their solo careers. They have performed together in over three hundred concerts across fifty countries on five continents. Their recordings include classical masterpieces for cello and piano, contemporary works, and undiscovered Italian twentieth century compositions. As an artistic director he, and as an artist in residence she, they represent the soul of the Amiata Piano Festival in the Tuscan Maremma.
Silvia Chiesa plays a cello Giovanni Grancino del 1697.
“… an understanding where the instrumental mastery, the freshness of the ideas and the continuous singing ability now brings this duo to the supreme peaks of concert music.
