Winner of numerous international awards—including the Virtuoso Prize at the Verbier Festival’s Vendôme Piano Prize and the MIUR’s Abbado Prize (Second Prize)—Luigi Carroccia has distinguished himself in the most prestigious piano competitions, such as the Busoni in Bolzano, the Chopin in Warsaw, and the Van Cliburn in Fort Worth, where critics recognized in him «that elusive quality that separates one artist from the others» (Gregory Sullivan Isaacs).
An active international concert artist, Carroccia returns to Chopin with a project of particular interest: the two Piano Concertos in the rare arrangement for piano and string quintet, released in 2025 as the cover CD for *Amadeus* magazine. This interpretation restores a more intimate, chamber-music dimension to Chopin’s writing. For this occasion, he shares the stage with a string quintet of young international talents—violinists Ruslan Talas and Julian Kainrath, violist Jaren Ziegler, cellist Mark Prihodko, and double bassist Alessandro Schillaci—all hailing from leading European schools and representing a new generation of performers.
